Your Winter Friend – Vitamin C!

Cold and flu season is in full swing and most of us are counting the days until springtime and warmer weather emerge.
Our body is designed to fend off viruses that enter our system and it’s important that we give it a fighting chance to set up a natural defense shield!
There are several things we can do, such as getting enough rest, having less stress in our lives and staying hydrated. One of the other best defenses we can utilize is getting a fair amount of vitamin C.
There are supplements that you can take, which mainly consist of pure ascorbic acid which can irritate the digestive system if too much is taken. There are many food sources you can incorporate into your diet that have an abundance of vitamin C, are nutritious and delicious.
Keep these on hand in the winter months and share generously with your family as a snack or a meal!
