Solution to the January Riddle is: 512.
This riddle was a little tricky and stumped quite a few of us last month. So here is how to get the solution step by step:
1) Add a bakers dozen, the number of the Boeing Super Jet, baseball’s “stretch” inning, the number saved by a stitch in time, and what a golfer yells before hitting a long shot. (13 + 747 + 7 + 9 + 4)= 780
2) Then subtract the number of blackbirds baked in a pie, and the number of miles driven in an Indianapolis Memorial Race. (780) – (24 + 500)=256
3) Then divide by the number of birds in the hand that one in the bush is worth. (1 in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. So one in the bush is only worth .50 or 1/2 a bird in the hand) So 256 divided by 1/2 = 512
