Honey Mustard Glazed Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

This is a delicious and healthier alternative to ground beef meatloaf.
Ingredients Turkey meatloaf with a honey mustard glaze

Meatloaf:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon mustard
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 Tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon ground garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 apple peeled and shredded
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 box of Stove Top Stuffing. Or you could substitute either 1- cup of breadcrumbs, or quick oats (Note: If you are not using Stovetop stuffing then I recommend adding some more herbs and seasonings such as thyme, rosemary, marjoram, parsley,  and possibly another ½ teaspoon of salt.)

Sauce/Glaze:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon yellow Mustard

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Lightly grease a standard-size 9 x 5 loaf pan with cooking spray. You can also line a rimmed baking sheet, with paper.
  3. Add all the wet meatloaf ingredients to a large bowl.
  4. Next add herbs, seasonings, and dry Stovetop stuffing or breadcrumbs
  5. Next mix in onion and apple
  6. Then gently mix in meat (without overworking the meat). Add the meat mixture to a loaf pan and gently pat it into an even layer.  Or, simply mound it into a loaf shape and place it on the baking sheet
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, make the meatloaf sauce by combining all ingredients in a bowl.
  8. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread sauce on top. Return to oven for 30 minutes more or until cooked through.
  9. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
