Stinky’s Riddles May 2017
May 3, 2017
Are you smarter than Stinky?
After a number of tests for an esteemed position at a logic based firm, the final 3 applicants are blindfolded and placed in a room. They are all told that a mark. either a white or black is being placed on their forehead. After the blindfolds are removed they are asked to raise their hand if they see a black mark on either of the other applicants’ foreheads. Unbeknownst to the applicants, black marks have been placed on all 3 foreheads and so of course they all raise their hands. They are then told that whoever figures out first what mark is on his own forehead will get the job. After a little while, one announces he is sure that he has a black mark on his forehead. How did he know for sure?
