Are you smarter than Stinky?
A single elimination tennis tournament starts with a certain number of players. How many matches must be played until a winner is arrived at in a tournament with:
a) 100 players
b) 1,500 players
c) 3,000 players

Solution to the February Riddle is: In order to measure exactly 45 minutes, light Rope A on both ends and Rope B on one end. When Rope A is completely burned out, 30 minutes will have elapsed. At this time, light the other end of Rope B. When B is extinguished , it will be 15 minutes after A burned out, thus 45 minutes total. Even though the ropes do not burn at a constant rate, lighting on both ends will make it burn in half the time.
