Homemade Tartar Sauce

Homemade is better than store bought. it;s easy and it's perfect for fish sticks, or with crab cakes or salmon cakes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, finely chopped (OR 6 Tbsp dill or sweet relish)
  • 1 Tbsp dill (OR 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 Tbsp onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tsp capers drained and chopped optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 3/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard optional

Method
 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine.
  2. Add more lemon juice or pickles if desired.
