Mr Jones sold his custom dog house for $4,000 and then bought it back again for $3,500, and sold it again for $4,500. The house is only worth the amount he paid for it. How much did he gain?

Solution to the September Riddle is: = 15.  The shoe store owner is actually only out $15 ($10 cash plus a $5 pair of shoes).  The $20 he gave the barber is a red herring, since he received $20 back.
